Our Shapado-hosted webiste (http://www.page2sucks.com) has recently had a spammer posting their website address to numerous questions. This is the first time I’ve had this happen, and wasn’t sure how to handle it.
When I signed in as administrator, I saw two options to handle the answer: ban and delete. Delete makes perfect sense to me…it will delete the post. Ban isn’t self-explanatory. Does it ban the user from posting to this question again? Or does it ban the user from posting again, ever? I tried it but still couldn’t figure out what it does. Any help is appreciated.
Also, after I delete an answer the points that the user collected by answering the question were still on his/her profile. It seems to me that if a person posts either a question or an answer and it’s deleted or banned, that the person should automatically lose those points. As an additional suggestion, if the post (question or answer) are marked as spam by, say, two people, that the points are removed as well.
Finally, after the answers were deleted it still shows the spammer’s handle (name) on the question as the “last answerer” (or last person to interact with the question). That’s annoying as it promotes the spammer when they should be banned.
