My internet connection sucks at work since we are outgrowing the T1 or whatever, but on Stack Overflow voting is still instantaneous. I’m assuming that on Shapado a round-trip is being made when you upvote/downvote, and that’s why it’s a bit slow for me. However, couldn’t the vote arrow be highlighted on the client first while the async call is being made?
I think that’s what SO does, because if there happens to be an error, the callback lets you know of it and undoes your action. (From what I remember, I haven’t used SO much in a while.)
