The missing peace is custom html and custom css which is already done in a development branch waiting to be merged, note that we already have themes with three themes to pick from. Custom html and css should be up on this site by the end of next week.
The voting system is entirely configurable so you can make it the same as StackExchange if that floats your boat, you can get more details here about how the default config works.
The best way to check though is by starting your own group and play with it, if you have your own domain, mail us at shapado \At/ ricodigo d0t com and we’ll hook you up.

It can’t be denied that there is an obvious gap in quality between the two products. Stack Exchange is smoother, with less bug … and quite usable as a Q&A platform. I don’t think Shapado is there … yet.
